Post-Test and Post-Course Survey
Let me be the first to congratulate you for getting through the curriculum. It required a lot of you… in time, energy and resources.
Now it’s time to test yourself. Early this week, please take the final comprehensive exam. It is 100 questions with one opportunity to answer each question. You will have 3 hours to complete it. When you take this I recommend that you reproduce the same formal test environment you will have on test day. Sit at a desk, turn off your phone and DO NOT BE DISTURBED during the entire 3 hour window of time. Additionally, refrain from using anything but a pen and piece of scratch paper. Try not to take breaks in the middle of the exam. You don't have to have a friend blow their nose and make irritating pencil knocking sounds throughout (that's a little too realistic).
I would encourage you to take a break after the exam and later come back and review your answers.
Remember to assess what types of errors you are making and remediate accordingly. If you have forgotten about your “portfolio,” please re-read the “Personal Portfolio” document under week 1. This will help to fine tune your test taking abilities.
Finally, in the days to come, review the 16+ pages of notes you have from the individual weeks. Rereading these notes will be imperative to your success. These 16 pages need to be your best friend until the exam. On top of that, you have access to the entirety of this course until after the test. You can retake quizzes, review material... whatever you need. Just remember that these aren't the ACTUAL QUESTIONS on the test... we tried hard to mirror the test in style and basic content, but memorizing this test won't do you much good.
The day before your exam, please rest. You can’t cram for this exam. Rest. Relax. Perhaps review the test taking strategies lecture between now and taking the test. Above all - don't panic. Take your time, read the questions carefully and be smart about how you use deductive reasoning. Eric and I , as well as the entire EIM team wish you the very best.
